Promising young actors, relatively new in their career, who gave the best performances of 2010 in an effort to breakthrough into the industry with their talent.

1. Gemma Arterton
She was adorable and stunning in Tamara Drewe and then dark, strong and subtly powerful in The Disappearance of Alice Creed. Her versatility in the year was impressive.

2. Andrew Garfield
He was completely captivating and emotionally-strong in Never Let Me Go and then held the heart of the film in the very good The Social Network.

3. Johnny Simmons
He displayed a beautiful emotional vulnerability and stood out in an all-star cast in The Greatest including Pierce Brosnan, Susan Sarandon and Carey Mulligan.

4. Felicity Jones
She was beautifully angelic in Cemetery Junction, coming across as innocent and independent at the same time. You just can't take your eyes off of her.

5. Christian Cooke
There was a lot of young talent in Cemetery Junction, but playing the lead character, he had to be charismatic, relatable, likable and interesting and he was all of that.

6. Matt Bush
An unknown actor when cast in Nice Guy Johnny, his natural ability gave his character a refreshingly real and enjoyable quality.

7. Christopher Gorham
He took the common rom-com of lovable but struggling writer, but he made it is own in My Girlfriend's Boyfriend with a nice, subtle touch of comedy.

8. Ezra Miller
He shone in his scenes of City Island with an interesting mix of comedy, serious vulnerability and a mature cynicism. 

9. Dominik Garcia-Lorido
She is Andy Garcia's daughter, and while it can't be easy playing a stripper as her father's daughter in City Island, she did it with class, grace and humour.

10. Bijou Phillips
She carried Wake as a unique and captivating character beautifully trying to come to an understanding of herself and human nature.
